Teaching Resources for New Faculty

This page is designed specifically for faculty new to Penn. We have included content and links relevant to the general issues you will be facing as a new faculty member preparing for the upcoming semester and we have tried to organize this content in the most useful way. Because we know this is a particularly busy time, we have included only the most important practical information you need right now.

Much more information on teaching at Penn is available at the School of Arts and Sciences' Center for Teaching and Learning webpage. We also publish a Teaching Handbook pdf, which is available in print or in PDF format. Moreover, undoubtedly there will be department-specific questions you have that we have not addressed. We suggest you talk to your department chair to learn these things.

But information on everything from how to get your Penn ID to when Fall semester grades are due can be found by following the links below, as well as contact information for people who can help you with other questions you may have.

• First Things First: IDs and Email Accounts

• Putting Together Your Syllabus: Practical Information
