SAS Teaching Assistant Training

The Center for Teaching and Learning coordinates the SAS TA Training Program.

From August 27-August 29 , 2008 all new TAs from SAS will participate in a three-day workshop on teaching and learning. Workshop topics include:

  • Presenting Yourself as a TA
  • Leading Discussions 
  • Grading in the Humanities and Qualitative Social Sciences 
  • Grading in the Sciences and Quantitative Social Sciences             
  • Recitations in the Sciences and Quantitative Social Sciences
  • Leading Effective Lab Sessions
  • Challenges Facing TAs
 

2008 Schedule of Sessions.

Each participant will ten-minute teaching presentation which will be discussed by fellow teaching assistants.  In addition, participants will participate in follow up workshops.
