| Making the Museum Your Classroom
The Penn Museum is a remarkable resource, as we all know (and
are reminded often), but how can we as TAs incorporate the collection
into our lesson plans? In this workshop, we will discuss everything
from the practical matters of arranging a class visit with the museum
staff to the variety of exercises that you can do while there or give
the students as take-home assigments. A tour will highlight some of
the objects most relevant to the major ANCH, AAMW, CLST courses.
Participants will have a chance to go behind the scenes and handle
artifacts from the collection and will receive a helpful guide
containing all of the information you will need to plan a visit,
including maps, images, and basic information about a number of the
most important pieces on display.
