Determining Your Classroom Persona

Barbara Elias, CTL Graduate Fellow, Political Science
Tuesday, Sept. 29, 3:30-5

Graduate Student Center 305

Am I a different person as a TA than I’ve been as a student? How will my students perceive me? How much power do I have to shape their perceptions? How will I interact with my students? The questions surrounding TA identity in the classroom pose challenges for all of us, affecting our experience as teachers and informing our students’ experiences as learners. This workshop will provide a forum for exploring these important issues and for discussing ideas about how we can feel more “ourselves” in the front of the classroom.
